Publish at 05.11.2014 / € 11,400 for the children of the SOS Children’s Village of Imzouren

Lucas Carbonaro, working for the EIB, won his ambitious bet: he succeeded to swim from Haifa in Spain to the northern coast of Morocco, making 17 kms in 4h40! But his challenge was double: he committed to finance the education and health care of the children living in the SOS Children’s Village of Imzouren in Morocco in 2015. And his donors rewarded his sportive attempt. Not only the EIB Institute but as well the Rotary Club Luxembourg Schuman and many private donors sponsored him. Lucas Carbonaro handed over a symbolic check himself. He travelled to see the children and the team of the SOS Children’s Village Imzouren and was warmly welcomed. After the visit, he even decided to become a SOS sponsor to extend his support…

  • Valuable support to help four Luxemburgish NGOs

Publish at 30.10.2014 / Questions.lu was launched with the ambition of setting a new model for carrying out market research studies. The goal was to make it the first opinion poll website to convert participants’ answers into humanitarian donations. This actually turned out as quite a success!

Four humanitarian organisations chose to join the project: the Luxembourgish Red-Cross, Caritas Luxembourg, SOS Villages d'Enfants Monde and Handicap International Luxembourg.
The website has now raised more than 50 000 euros in donations by means of roughly fifty surveys. While proving efficient, this innovative model seems to provoke general enthusiasm as well.
Besides, almost 6000 Internet users have signed up to the Questions.lu platform which everyone hopes will keep going on the same track.

  • Berlitz supports SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde

Publish at 19.04.2013 / Berlitz Luxembourg partners with SOS Villages d'Enfants Monde through a cooperation focusing on the SOS education projects. First, Berlitz will invite a 15-year-old teenage girl from a SOS Children's Village on the Cape Verde Islands to a Kids and Teens Camp in Luxembourg in 2013. The youngster in the camp will not only be immersed in French but also discover a new world by travelling to Europe.
In Luxembourg it is normal that good education is provided for everybody, including the knowledge of foreign languages. Artur Sosna, Country Manager of Berlitz Language and Business Training, thinks ahead: „As a global instruction company Berlitz would like to contribute and provide a good education for more children in poor and crisis-ridden regions. SOS Villages d'Enfants Monde is a partner which targets childrens' development effectively due to SOS' experience in specific regions. SOS makes sure that children have good perspectives towards education even in difficult environments so that their families are also strengthened."
Sophie Molitor, Manager of SOS Villages d'Enfants Monde, adds: „We are happy about Berlitz‘ decision to support our programmes because the right to education is a basic right. Our SOS kindergartens, day-care centres, schools and training centres are for SOS-children and teenagers, but also available for those from surrounding communities. In addition we make it possible for all children in our programmes to visit existing schools. We provide children with the necessary school supplies and private lessons. We aim at preparing them for a professional future and an independent life."
